The chromatic palette contrasts the warm orange of the female figure with the cool blue of the sea and sky, creating a strong visual contrast. The red line defining the body adds tension, recalling artists like Egon Schiele or Henri Matisse. The combined use of acrylic and oil gives material variety to the surface, while the collage technique evokes the experiments of Synthetic Cubism and Dadaism, introducing a break with traditional two-dimensionality.

The work suggests a sense of escape, but also of fragmentation of reality. The seaside scene, usually associated with carefreeness, appears here more complex and layered. The female figure, not completely defined, seems to evoke a changing identity or a blurred memory. The insertion of discontinuous elements through collage reinforces the idea of a subjective and layered perception of experience, where reality and memory blend.

Al mare is a work that merges figuration and abstraction, painting and collage, evoking contrasting sensations. Its value lies in its ability to stimulate an open reading, where the viewer is invited to reconstruct a fragmented and personal narrative.
