Raging HORSE - bronze sculpture by Roberto Tagliazucchi

CARRARAARTE-SCULBM1

This bronze sculpture, made in 1992 using the lost-wax technique, represents a significant example of contemporary figurative sculpture. The lost-wax technique is an ancient and refined method of bronze casting, appreciated for its ability to capture subtle details and for its durability over time.

The dynamic pose of the subject, seemingly launching itself into the air, reflects a deep understanding of movement and physical form. Muscular tension is rendered with great mastery, and the movement is executed so well that one can almost perceive the propulsive force of the figure.

The dark patina of the bronze adds a sense of classicism and nobility to the work, while still maintaining a touch of modernity in the fluidity of the lines and the absence of superfluous details, which focus attention on the essence of movement and the abstract form of the horse.By Maria Stone Critic d'Art
